Korean firms Samsung and LG Electronics have announced that they will participate with the U.S.-based Advanced Television Systems Committee’s effort to develop a standard for mobile-DTV broadcasting. Jong Woo Park, president of Samsung digital-media business, said: “Our collaboration on North American mobile-DTV standardization will help to accelerate the ATSC standardization of mobile-TV technology, which will benefit both consumers and broadcasters.” (Broadcasting & Cable 5/14)
